The felt cushion is fixed to the rest of the structure by leather threads tied around thin strips of birch plywood, these being in turn stiffened by maple lamellar wood components. Clearly in contrast to the apparent aesthetical frailness of the whole, the single components with their specific functions form an unique solidly calibrated loom. (+ source)
